GLASSTRESS
Laurent Reypens in Art Space Berengo with his work 'Closed Theatre with Flowers For Freedom'
Exhibition from 3 June to 27 November 2022.

Each curtain has a back with a past, but also shows a front with a future. The bouquet that places itself in the foreground from behind the curtain is purely symbolic. These 'Flowers For Freedom' have fought their way free from the stage of life. They show us the way to love, life and death ...

Laurent Reypens and the Fondazione Berengo are pleased to invite you to the opening of the international exhibition 'Glasstress' at the Art Space Berengo in Murano at 6 pm.

The seventh edition of Glasstress brings together a group of leading contemporary artists from Europe, the United States, Latin America, Africa and China in an ambitious exhibition exploring the infinite creative possibilities of glass.  The artworks will be housed in the Fondazione Berengo Art Space in Murano, an old abandoned furnace that was converted into an evocative exhibition space a few years ago. Works will be shown by artists who have already collaborated with Berengo Studio, such as Ai Weiwei, Jimmie Durham, Tony Cragg, Monira Al Qadiri and Thomas Schütte, but also by Vanessa Beecroft, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Paloma Varga Weisz and Laurent Reypens, among others.
